1,000 People Gather To Eat 1,000 Ghost Chilies, And Countless Regrets Are Made (Video)

A throng of chili aficionados gathered together in Copenhagen in honor of Danish Comedian and Musician Chili Klaus to do one thing — eat a raw ghost chili.

The ghost chili, or Bhut Jolokia, is thought to be one of the world’s hottest peppers. Coming in at more than 1 million Scovilles, it packs a rather vicious punch. To give you some perspective a Jalapeno pepper is only about 5,000 Scovilles. In India they rub the ghost chili on the outsides of their fences to deter elephants from entering their properties.

Most of these people do not look too pleased with their decision after eating the pepper. Which makes sense considering they basically just pepper sprayed their mouths. I would have totally faked eating the pepper and just drank a bunch of that free yogurt drink they passed around and laughed.
