“Are you one of the boring people who don’t want to be beautiful?” The opening line to The Plastics’ new music video titled “The Plastics” asks.
Because everyone can be beautiful when you’re made of plastic.”
You’re not dreaming a terrible nightmare about Mean Girls Gone Bad—this is an actual group signed to an actual record, “singing” in an actual music video about the glories of living life under the knife. The Plastics are made up of: Toby Sheldon, the 33-year-old guy who reportedly spent $100,000 to look like Biebs, Kitty Jay, who dropped $25,000 to look like her beloved Jennifer Lawrence, and Madonna fanatic Venus D-Lite, a former contestant of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The debut music video and song featuring Adam Barta is anthem for similar celeb/plastic surgery fanatics who want to say it loud and proud: They are beautiful because they’re plastic. No shame here, people, so don’t even try to put this fabulous group down for their lifestyle choices. Botox, implants, nips and tucks—The Plastics admit to it all and share it in their music video for everyone to see.
We are, we are, we are fantastic. If you want to be us, let our docs work their magic.”
