Chicago Doughnut Shop Employee Prints Hilarious Customized Receipts

Everyone craves for a little extra power everyday, any reason just to say that you did something because you could. That’s probably how one donut shop employee from Stan’s Donuts in Chicago felt when he was told he could print whatever he wanted on customers’ receipts.

User buckwheatwaffle shared the details of his innocent power trip with a photo of a customized receipt on his Redditt account late Tuesday night, April 29.

“I was given the ability to control what gets printed on the receipts at the doughnut shop where I work,” the employee posted.

“This is the first thing I did.”

The receipt quite appropriately quoted funnyman Mitch Hedberg’s comedy sketch about the unnecessary waste of getting a receipt for a donut purchase. Pure genius. (Probably not the greatest power trip we’ve ever seen in our lives, but we salute you, anonymous donut shop employee, for taking the opportunity to leave your mark in the world!)

Buckwheatwaffle later posted in the comments that although his “boss found it hilarious,” he was eventually asked to remove the quote at the risk of offending the clientele.

“I’ve replaced it with Matt Groening’s quote ‘donuts, is there anything they can’t do?” The employee lamented.

“NOT THE SAME.”
