Chicagoan Shermain Miles has been arrested for all sorts of crimes, ranging from disorderly conduct to assault on a local alderman. The 52-year-old was arrested 396 times over 35 years, and just added arrest number 397 to the list.

When she was released from a correctional center on Nov. 18, she swore she was done with her old ways. Her record includes alleged crimes of theft, reckless conduct, drinking in public and misdemeanor battery, to name a few.

She planned to turn herself around by giving up alcohol, staying away from bad influences and living in a second-chance residential home for ex-inmates, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. “I’m really not that bad a person,” Miles told the Sun-Times. “It was the alcohol I was drinking that turned me into a monster.”

Now after just a month out, Miles is back behind bars for the 397th time. Police said witnesses allegedly saw her approach a 63-year-old man and steal a set of keys from him on Thursday. According to the Sun-Times, when police arrived at the scene, they found her drinking and “engaging in a physical altercation with a male companion.” She is now being held in lieu of a $10,000 bail.
