Jason Lee, a 37-year-old managing director at Goldman Sachs, was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree rape of a 20-year-old woman in East Hampton, NY. The alleged sexual assault is said to have taken place in the home Lee and his wife had rented for the month of August.

Police said they were responding to a reported disturbance and found that the woman had been sexually assaulted in the residence. Police noted that several other people were present at the home when they arrived.

His lawyer Edward Burke, Jr., said Lee “adamantly denies the allegations.” He also commented that his client is an “investment bank managing director who has never been in trouble in his life, never accused of any impropriety at all.”

According to a source close to him, Lee had just met the alleged victim for the first time that night.

Lee was released Wednesday after posting a $20,000 bail. His court date is currently set for September 19, and he is on leave from Goldman Sachs while the investigation continues.

Further details of the case remain unknown, but Goldman Sachs is expected to issue a statement shortly.
