According to the South China Morning Post, the iPhone 6 is expected to be stronger, larger, and lighter.

The iPhone 5’s have a 4 inch display. The report says the iPhone 6 will have screen sizes of 4.7 and 5.5 inches. If true, the iPhone will level the display size playing field with Samsung, HTC, Nokia, and the potential of Lenovo’s eastern-centric phone. The .7 and 1.5 inch increases to the current display size will provide an option for customers with differing preferences for display. The 5.5 inch display is close to the 6 inch display of the popular Galaxy Note, which is notorious for its large screen size. Whereas, customers looking for a front-pocket sized phone may find that the 4.7 inch display suits their needs better.

Rumors from a news outlet in China say that the iPhone 6 will sport a lighter frame.

Included in that report, is the rumor that an upgraded iPhone 6 would have a significantly improved front-facing FaceTime camera that would better the current 1.2 Megapixels to 8 Megapixels.

The recent acquisition of a sapphire manufacturing plant in Arizona hints that the iPhone 6 screen will be stronger and more scratch resistant than the Gorilla Glass display used on previous iPhone generations.

The iPhone 6 release date is expected to be September 2014.
