Is this An Image Of The iPad5?

9to5Mac got ahold of unverified photos of an iPad 5 prototype from a Chinese accessories maker yesterday. The device retains its classic black, slate, white and silver design boasts a 9.7-inch screen. The source advised 9to5Mac the casing is nearly as thin as the iPad mini’s.

The images on 9to5Mac fall in line with an iLounge report last week by Jeremy Horowitz. According to Horwitz, the next iPad model will have almost no right- or left-bezels, and just enough space at the top and bottom of the display to house the device’s camera and home button. The iPad 5 will also be thinner than other models and feature similar curved edges as the iPad mini.

Although the device was initially rumored to launch in March, word out of Cupertino and Asian suppliers now suggest it won’t be ready for release until October.

Horowitz also shared some information about the release of the iPhone 5S, which is rumored to make its appearance in 2013 and look very similar to the iPhone 5 with a larger real flash. The “low cost” iPhone is also expected in the coming months and will likely include a plastic body. Still, the device will look almost identical to the iPhone 5 from the front with a 4-inch screen, but also a curved design similar to an iPod. Horowitz cite sources that claim, however, the cheaper version of the iPhone will be “a half-millimeter” taller, wider and thicker than the iPhone 5—larger in every dimension but barely noticeable at best.
