New Sony Xperia Z Smartphone Can Survive Being Dropped In The Toilet

Sony unveiled its newest mobile phone at the International Consumer Electronics Show, and it’s ideal for the many who have lost their device to the toilet. The Xperia Z boasts a waterproof design that can survive toilet drops, and even be taken into the bath or shower. According to Sony, the handset with its 5-inch screen is capable of being submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. Users can even wash the device under a faucet when it’s dirty.

Sony claims one in 10 people have dropped their phone in the toilet at least once. The ports on the Xperia Z protect against such incidents because they feature protective covers that must be unclipped to access.

There’s a lot more to the Xperia Z than just its waterproof-design and large screen. Sony claims the device has the highest resolution ever offered in a mobile phone. The 5-inch screen has an many pixels as a 55-inch HD television, as well as a quad-core processor. It also comes features a 13 megapixel camera.
