Tiger Woods Hits Tee Shot Between Two Continents (Video)
Much like London is seemingly forcing themselves to get excited about NFL football, Turkey has discovered a newfound love for golf. With the Turkish Airlines golf tournament on the horizon, promoters needed a way to invoke excitement among the locals, so they hired Tiger Woods in a stunt to become the first person to hit a ball between Europe and Asia. As expected, the World’s #1 golfer delivered, successfully hitting the ball (Nike, of course) from a neighborhood in Ortakoy, Istanbul to Beylerbeyi, which lies on the Asian shore of Bosphorus.
It appears that not all the Turkish citizens are on board with shutting down the Bosphorus Bridge, which sees about 180,000 cars per day. Jump to 0:41 to see one fan who probably won’t be in attendance this weekend.
The Turkish Airlines Open starts this Thursday and Tiger is the only non-European in the field. He will be paid £1.5 million to appear in the tournament, twice the amount that the winner will receive.
