In what we can only describe as dumb, dumber and dumbest — three New Jersey friends have all been charged with DUIs after trying to find a ride home.

It started with Carmen Reatequi, 34. She was pulled over after a police officer saw her swerving on the road at 1:45 a.m. Monday. Reatequi did field sobriety tests, and officers found she had been drinking. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay in a lane and failure to provide a vehicle insurance card, according to the NJ.com

Back at the police station, Reatequi called Nina Petracca, 23, for a ride home. So far, this is all standard procedure.

But Petracca was also drunk. After she drove to the police station, officers were explaining the potential liability form to her when they noted that she appeared intoxicated. They had her do sobriety tests in the station lobby and confirmed her inebriated state.

Petracca was arrested on the spot for DUI, according to NJ.com. A search of her belongings came up with Vicodin in an unmarked container, leading Petracca to receive additional charges of possession of Vicodin and driving while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Now both Reatequi and Petracca needed rides home. They called on Ryan Hogan, 33. Hogan drove to the station and an officer began explaining the potential liability form, just as with Petracca. And, just as with Petracca, Hogan appeared drunk. The officer smelled alcohol on his breath, had Hogan do sobriety tests and arrested the third driver for DUI.

The trio eventually found a sober adult to take them home. All three are set to appear in court in January.
