Celebrities put up with a lot of shit from the public. People can be pretty nasty with their comments, and Twitter has allowed them to send those mean-spirited jabs straight to their subjects. And although celebrities may thicken their skins in order to tolerate the bullshit, it’s gotta be tough to read certain Tweets aloud—especially to a national audience. But that’s exactly what Jimmy Kimmel’s been asking in his nighttime segment “Mean Tweets.”

As stars such as Jessica Simpson, Zach Braff, Ray Romano and Andy Samberg demonstrated in last night’s segment, some of the Tweets can be pretty harsh. You’d almost feel sorry for the celebrities if they weren’t so damn funny. Anytime you can get a few candid “fuck you”s and some comparisons to shit in the same sequence, it’s sure to spell a good time.
