Laptop Camera Captures Housekeeper Going Through Hotel Guest’s Belongings (Video)
Even though hotel rooms aren’t usually considered as secure as a bank vault, it’s reasonable to assume that you can leave a few of your personal possessions lying around if you have to… or is it? After watching this hidden-camera video uploaded by YouTube user Vince Stravix on Nov. 5, you might conclude that the answer is an emphatic “no,” as a member of the housekeeping staff in a U.S. brand-named hotel flagrantly rifles through his possessions. First she looks through a stack of PS3 games, which is innocent enough, but then she moves on to his laptop, attempts to access his tablet, tries to access his Chromebook, looks inside his luggage and tries to access his laptop again. If you were paranoid about leaving your laptop in a hotel room, your fears have been validated, although it’s important to note that nothing was stolen.
“This video was not uploaded to incite a witch-hunt or a boycott. Employees are never 100 percent controllable and they never will be because people are not robots,” Stravix posted in the comments for the video, which has now been viewed over 1 million times.
