Woman Buried Alive After Tragic First Date Becomes An Online Dating Story From Hell
In a story that's almost too unbelievable to be true, a 25-year-old French national named Mina El Houari was buried alive after a first date gone terribly wrong.
After exchanging Facebook messages with a man in Morocco for months, El Houari flew out to the north African country from Southeast France to meet her suitor in person last month. After checking herself into a five-star hotel in the city of Fez, El Houri headed off to meet her date—not knowing the tragic turn of events that would soon follow.
Sometime during the night, El Houari's date later told police the woman abruptly collapsed and passed out, News.com.au reports. In a sheer panic—and believing her to be dead—the man decided to bury his date in his backyard, saying he was in such a rush that he didn't realize she was still breathing. It was later discovered that El Houari was an undiagnosed diabetic and had entered into a diabetic coma when she collapsed and was later buried.
After not hearing from El Houari, her relatives became concerned and filed a missing person's report with the police before flying out to Morocco to search for her. After learning from her family that El Houari had met with a man that night from her family, the police interrogated him about her disappearance and searched his home. They found a shovel and a pair of muddy trousers before finding the poor woman's body.
The man has reportedly confessed his crime and has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
