Giving new meaning to “hands-free,” one San Francisco company has created jeggings with built-in pockets that allow women to text while their phones are tucked snuggly away with a Velcro strap. Alphyn’s Valencia jeggings—a cross between jeans and leggings—first appeared at the FashionWare runway show at the Consumer Electronics Show.

The designs are made of stretch denim with a protective pocket sewn onto one leg that fits most smartphones. The protective, transparent cover on the pocket allows the wearer to use the phone for texting and other applications without pulling it out. The pocket even includes a cable hole that allows the wearer to use headphones without removing the phone.

Dudes need not feel left out. Alphyn also offers “smart” jeans for men with a similar pocket. The company says the designs were inspired by fighter pilots’ G-suits, which have straps and pockets on the thighs to allow easy access to maps, notes and other items during flight. The Alphyn line even includes jackets and hoodies with drop-down chest pockets for an iPad.
