Apple To Release Gold iPhone

While Apple’s iWatch design concept is still new, a new Apple rumor has been confirmed.

The Japanese site Macotakara was one of the first to report that the upcoming iPhone 5S would be released in a gold color, dubbed the iPhone 5C. Other sources have been hot on the heels to confirm, as more leaks and sources come forward.

Yes, there will be a gold iPhone,” MG Siegler wrote at TechCrunch. “That’s the latest I’m hearing from multiple sources after several weeks of rumors and possible component leaks suggesting the same thing… And now, upon checking, sure enough, there will be gold.”

In June, BGR suggested that Apple may be getting rid of the black color altogether. It came up with this conclusion after going through several mockups on the web and finding that only one showed details of a black version.

It said: “We recently published high-resolution photos of several components that will be included in Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S. Among them were several photos showing the redesigned SIM card trays from the upcoming new iPhone. One tray is silver, much like the tray on Apple’s current white iPhone model. The other tray is a light gold color.”

Rene Ritchie at iMore believes that the gold color could be Apple’s attempt to make some fresh aesthetic changes, after facing some criticism.

“Given the ignorant boring comments Apple had to endure after introducing the completely re-built iPhone 5 last year, gold would give the market the superficial appearance of change the seem to crave,” he said. Colleague Ally Kazmuch, said that gold would be one of the easiest colors to incorporate into the lineup.

While gold is the color circulating around the web, iMore has said that the iPhone might produce a more muted gold color, such as champagne, instead of a strong gold. This could appear less tacky. According to TechCrunch, a gold variation would do well in Chinese and Indian markets, where the color is popular.
