Broncos DB Will Walk Home From Super Bowl If Victorious

In an interview with Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post, Broncos safety Mike Adams claims if they take home the Lombardi Trophy, Adams will walk home. Home for Adams during the season is Denver, but Adams hails from Paterson, New Jersey. Only 12 miles from the site of next week’s Super Bowl, Adams says he will walk home to Paterson with his helmet and shoulder pads on. Maybe not the whole way, though. “After I get to the IHOP on Route 3, I’ll start hitchhiking. But they’d probably think I’m just some crazy person.”

The veteran safety is not a household name in the NFL, but started all 16 games for the AFC champions. Here’s hoping the Broncos take home the championship hardware on Sunday, and that Adams takes a limo home instead of walking. Though, to hear Adams tell it, it doesn’t sound like he pines for Paterson all that much. “It can be almost like a cancer, and I say that because the negativity in that place can be like a snowball rolling downhill.”
