Calvin Harris Buys $7 Million Home In Hollywood Hills

DJ Calvin Harris, born Adam Wiles, recently splurged $7 million on a four-bedroom Hollywood Hills home. At the mere age of 29, Harris’s career has taken him from his birthplace of Dumfries, Scotland to a Hollywood mansion with such accoutrements as an infinity pool, a firepit lounge, and 4,000 square feet where he can entertain a party as large as the crowds that attend his shows.

First constructed in 1953, the mansion acquired a chef’s kitchen, incredibly high ceilings, and a serious new balcony and master bedroom in 2006 during a major renovation. The breathtaking views of the surrounding metropolis, though, have been there since the beginning.

Set to play next in Vegas on June 8, the Scottish-born Harris has been wildly successful in his DJ career. He has worked with artists as big as Kylie Minogue, Rihanna, Dizzee Rascal, LMFAO and the Scissor Sisters. His 2007 album, I Created Disco, boasts a couple top 10 hits in the UK. His second album, Ready for the Weekend, produced in 2009, made it up to number one on the UK Album Chart.

Also successful in his real estate purchases, Harris bought his new home for $7 million after a January listing that set it at $7.895 million. For him, this might not be such an accomplishment, but for most of us, that’s a lot of money to save on luxury living.

As this summer will see Harris in Spain, Norway, Sweden, the UK, and Malta (to name just a few of his tour stops), it’s unclear how much time he will be spending in the Hills of Hollywood. He’ll return to the United States at the start of September, where he will play at the Made In America Music Festival in Philadelphia. Perhaps afterwards he can enjoy his new home, but with a career like Harris’s, work and play can merge to make even a $7 million mansion seem like an afterthought.
