Capture App Launched to Create, Upload YouTube Videos
Smartphone users can now record video from their mobile devices and instantly upload it to YouTube. The video-sharing site has released a free iOS app called Capture that allows users to record, enhance and upload videos as quickly as possible. As soon as the app is opened, it is read to record, and even lets users make minor video edits such as color correction, image stabilization, and music implementation from any of YouTube’s free background tracks.
The YouTube upload process begins the very second the recording finishes, and offers the user the option to customize privacy, sharing and enhancement options. Users can choose to cut the length of their recording or even lock their videos in to horizontal orientation to avoid the YouTube “vertical video syndrome.” Video quality can be set between 480p and 720p—HD mode is not yet available. Existing videos shot on an iPhone or iPod Touch can be imported and touched up with the app, but iPad videos are unfortunately not compatible.
The Capture iOS app is already live in the App Store, and the Android app should be available in the near future.
