Duck crossing straight ahead! The Portland Police Department just released a video depicting a high-speed chase interrupted by a row of ducks. Officer Mark James’ dashcam captures his pursuit of a vehicle speeding 52 mph in a 35-mph zone. As James chases the speedster through the rain, he comes to a sudden stop when he spots a mother duck leading her ducklings across the road.

Rather than speeding around the troupe of ducks to continue his pursuit, James takes the time to exit his vehicle and escort the foul safely off the road.

Although the traffic violator got away, James scores major points for placing the safety of the animals at priority.
