F Train Attack: NYPD Searching For Subway Performers Accused Of Beating Man

I’ve seen this kind of crowd many times. A bunch of punk kids get on the train, start blasting their shitty music, do a few breakdance moves and then beg for money for their god-awful performance. Normally I just look away and don’t notice them, but one passenger in early May had seen enough.

According to the NYPD, a passenger got into an argument with three performers who are most likely part of a Subway dance crew. The argument escalated, and then the three teenagers attacked the man, punching in him in the body and the head. Thankfully the NYPD has released crystal-clear photos of these suspects, which should allow the public to identify them quite easily.

Or not. These are some of the worst security footage photos I’ve ever seen. Does the NYPD seriously think this will help? I get it, it’s very unfortunate that this man was harmed by these thugs, but these pictures don’t even help. We have four blurry images of young black kids. Granted, they are wearing different clothing. But besides that, you can hardly tell the difference between them thanks to the picture quality.

I’ve never been attacked on the subway, but I have seen some heated arguments result. If you’re alone on the train with some people who have no other intention than to intimidate you and threaten you, just move to the next car. Most of these idiots only attack when provoked.

Thankfully the man who was attacked is perfectly fine and was treated at Cornell Weill Medical Center. The police describe the suspects as between the ages of 17 and 19 years old. If you live in the area and know anything about this incident, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Web site at www.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
