It was a match made in Heaven. Funny or Die took on the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax in an eHarmony video parody. The sketch portrays a fictional Te’o describing his too-good-to-be-true girlfriend, and feeding her invisible person strawberries, which fall to the ground. He explains the challenges he and Lennay Kekua faced during their relationship, “Like when she got in a car accident at some point in an eight-month span in 2011,” as well as her endearing qualities, “She’s the most considerate person I know, like when she called me after she already died of leukemia. That changed my life. I can’t believe I met somebody that incredible. And nobody else believes it either.”

Just like the actual fictitious relationship, Funny or Die’s version points out the curiosities of Te’o love story. “The chemistry was there from the start,” the actor portraying the Notre Dame football star says to the camera.

I talk about her and people say,

I want to meet her, Is she real?

Have you actually met her? Is it a hoax?’ Because she is just that amazing.”

The moral of the story? You’ve got to see it to believe it.
