New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is under heavy fire after being linked to a political revenge plot. He’s facing allegations that he and his administration orchestrated massive traffic jams heading onto the George Washington Bridge. Documents seem to support the rumor that the September incident was a way of getting back at a New Jersey political opponent.

He said in a statement yesterday that he knew nothing of the proceedings within his administration. While it’s clear that top aides had a hand in the traffic jams, Gov. Christie claims it was all done without his knowledge or approval. He said in a public statement yesterday, “I am outraged and deeply saddened to learn that not only was I misled by a member of my staff, but this completely inappropriate and unsanctioned conduct was made without my knowledge… The people of New Jersey deserve better. This behavior is not representative of me or my Administration in any way.”

News outlets aren’t buying it, with many of today’s headlines asking, “Do you believe him?” Check out some of the bad press he’s incurring today.
