Legoland Hotel To Open In California In April

Planning a family vacation to California next year, or perhaps just looking to reawaken the kid inside of you? Construction of the Legoland Hotel in Carlsbad, Calif. is ahead of schedule and the facility plans to open April 5.

The nation’s first Legoland Hotel is a three-story, 250-room facility at the Legoland California resort, and it’s designed to fully immerse guests in the world of the classic toy. More than 3 million Lego bricks were used to create about 3,422 models placed throughout the hotel, including the iconic Lego dragon which will breathe smoke at guests as they enter the building. Three themed room choices will include a Lego knight, pirate or adventurer. Guests can also choose premium themed rooms which include even more Lego models.

The hotel is designed with families in mind, and each room offers two sleeping area—one for adults and another for as many as three children, including a pull-out trundle bed and a television. Each room offers children a treasure chest that can only be opened after the guests complete a treasure hunt activity, searching for clues hidden throughout the room.

The hotel offers guests a pool and lounge area, as well as event space and a buffet restaurant. Hotel guests also receive early admission to the Legoland theme park, and entertainment is provided for children each evening. The theme park offers more than 60 rides, shows and other Lego-themed attractions, Sea Life Carlsbad Aquarium and Legoland Waterpark.
