Women have been telling men they’ll never understand the pain associated with labor for as long as babies have been born. And men have told women they are exaggerating or simply have a low tolerance for pain. Finally, someone has put some macho guys to the test. A video released on Mother’s Day depicts two men undergoing a labor simulation designed to mimic pain experienced in childbirth.

In the video, which has gone viral, the men approach the simulation chuckling to one another, under the firm belief that their wives are simply good at exaggerating. But soon after Michigan doctor Julie Masters  hook them up to the machine, the smiles vanish from their faces. Almost immediately the two begin to flinch and squirm.

As the simulation continues, however, they cry out in agony, curl into a fetal position, moan and groan—quite loudly, in fact. Fortunately, their wives are present to provide moral support, but it’s obvious the ladies are getting a kick out of the trial, even high-fiving one another at one point.
