New ‘Jobs’ Film Trailer Becomes The First To Appear On Instagram

Earlier this month, the Jobs biopic film, starring Ashton Kutcher as the late Steve Jobs, revealed its colorful movie poster. Now Open Road Films has revealed a 15-second trailer for the movie exclusively on Instagram.

Using Instagram, who just starting supporting videos a month ago, the teaser-trailer shows a series of short scenes narrated by Kutcher. He says:

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels. Because the people who think they are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do.”

With its release, it becomes the first video trailer to make a debut on the photo-sharing app, Instagram. Its official trailer, at nearly two-and-a-half minutes long, was released in June.

The film synopsis reads,

It only takes one person to start a revolution. The extraordinary story of Steve Jobs, the original innovator and ground-breaking entrepreneur who let nothing stand in the way of greatness. The film tells the epic and turbulent story of Jobs as he blazed a trail that changed technology—and the world—forever.”

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and garnered mixed reviews.

While the film’s emphasis is on Jobs’ career, it also touches on less savory aspects of his personal life, including his rejection of pregnant girlfriend Chrisann Brennan and repudiation of his daughter Lisa in his early 20s,” says Justin Lowe at the Hollywood Reporter. “And jOBS doesn’t gloss over his reputation for unwavering perfection, direct speech and temperamentalism.”

Other reviewers thought Kutcher did a great job of capturing Jobs’ mannerisms and appearance, but poor writing failed to portray the real Steve Jobs. “Others will write of the things “jOBS” omits, gets wrong, or simply avoids,” wrote CNET. “My primary disappointment was in how shallow the film felt, given the extensive historical record.”
