The “test drive” is taking on a whole new meaning with Nissan’s launch of its new Juke Nismo. Consumer’s need not visit a Nissan dealership to try out the model, set to go on sale in early 2013. By downloading racing game app Asphalt 7: Heat for their iOS or Android devices, potential Nissan customers can test out the Juke Nismo in avatar form.

Asphalt 7, by Gameloft, features a meticulously recreated virtual Juke Nismo, that incorporates all of the car’s actual motorsport-style dynamics and performance.

With many of the car’s features inspired by today’s digital and gaming technologies, we wanted to launch it to consumers in an all-new, innovative way that reflects its core value,” said Nissan European general manager for marketing communications Gareth Dunsmore. “Putting it into the world of Aspahlt 7: Heat, the world’s best-selling mobile driving game, and allowing players to take it for a virtual spin, gives us that opportunity. Smartphones and tablets are increasingly dominating consumers’ time and attention, so this launch strategy lets us reach out directly to driving and racing fans across Europe in a way that perfectly suits today’s digital age.
