Baseball players have all kinds of crazy superstitions. Having a hot streak? Don’t wash your cap, no matter how raunchy and dirty it gets. Bad slump at the plate? Ceremoniously burn your batting gloves and do a dance. Moises Alou? Pee on your hands before every game.

Pitch for the Pirates? Pick your nose in the dugout and munch a boog while nobody’s looking. Unfortunately for Gerrit Cole, the cameras were on him as he dug for gold.
