Saddest Margarine Ever Is Called ‘Memories of Butter’ (Photo)

When one Reddit user posted a picture of a butter substitute aptly named “Memories of Butter,” it was hard not to laugh. The post is titled “Saddest name for butter substitute” and shows a packaged container of margarine on a grocery aisle shelf.

The container reads “nonhydrogenated margarine, 0 trans fat,” which means it contains a whole lot less of the substances and ingredients that are bad for you and available in traditional butter brands.

The comments that followed were, of course, right on par. Corny jokes followed when one user tied it to the song “Somebody That I Used To Know,” by writing “some butter that I used to know”; another said, “Hey guy, that was only marginally acceptable. I expect more from the world’s most delicious snack”; “butter safe than sorry folks, we have a very thin margarine of error here”; and then, “memories of butter days.”

Soon we’ll be seeing a fat-free candy called, “Memories of Sugar.”
