Tinder Launching An ‘Undo’ Button As Part Of Tinder Plus

Tinder, that ubiquitous dating app that you either love, hate or have no opinion about whatsoever, is introducing a new paid version called Tinder Plus that will contain two new features and begin generating a revenue stream for Tinder for the first time ever.

The first new feature of Tinder Plus is called Undo, and it does just that — it allows people who have swiped left on a profile, thereby erasing it and forever losing it to the cold, uncaring abyss of cyberspace, to undo their swipe and re-view the profile.

The most-requested feature we get is a button to go back and have a second chance with people that users swipe left on,” Tinder co-founder Sean Rad, who has recently been replaced as the company’s CEO, tells TechCrunch. “Everyone has wanted it from the beginning.”

The Undo button will be displayed to everyone, according to TechCrunch, but only those who pay will be able to use it.

In addition to getting a second chance at digital love, paying users will also have access to another feature called Passport, which will allow them to search outside their geographical area. Tinder is always trying to “remove the barriers to meeting new people,” Rad tells TechCrunch; he thinks Passport will break down the barrier of location and allow people to discover unexpected relationships.

Tinder has been downloaded 40 million times since its launch in 2012, according to Forbes, and “facilitates” almost 14 million matches every 24 hours. However, since Tinder Plus is still in the testing phase, eager Americans will have to wait; the paid version is first being introduced to Brazil, Germany and the U.K., and only 40 percent of each of those countries’ users will have access to it. Once the company figures out how people like the features and how much they’d be willing to pay for them, Tinder Plus will launch globally, allowing daters everywhere to recover their potential lost loves from the vacuum of the Internet and go on two dates before deciding it really wasn’t worth it.
