Apple Inc. is once again wowing its fans with the release of its latest iPad model, the iPad Air. While Apple released only a single model of the iPad this go around, the iPad Air has impressed customers and investors alike. This weekend, the company sold around 3 million of the new model tablet computers. With more changes made this time than ever before in the history of the iPad, the iPad Air is quickly becoming a sensation in the tech world.
The new model is very thin, much lighter, and is also much quicker in response time. According to Forbes.com, many reviewers claim that if you are holding out for a Retina iPad Mini this holiday season, you should grab this model instead.

Apple Inc. Disregards Former CEO’s Hatred For Mini Computers

The late Steve Jobs’ extreme disgust with the idea of a 7 inch tablet is no small secret. The former CEO of Apple Inc. never took any pains to hide his feelings regarding the idea of producing such a model for Apple customers.

However, last year, Apple Inc. introduced its iPad Mini, and the company was careful to explain that this tablet was a 7.85 inch tablet. The iPad Mini was a great tablet and was remarkably thin and solid. However, the mini did not have the beautiful display capabilities that its other products had. Apple needed to introduce the Retina display to its new seedling in order for it to be truly powerful. The new model with Retina display will be available later this month, provided Sharp can keep up with orders for the new LCD screens.

Pricing

Apple Inc. offers the original iPad Mini for just $299. The new, upgraded version with the Retina display will be available for just $100 more at $399 later on this month. The iPad Air is priced at just $499, and both the Air and the Mini with Retina display can be upgraded to include more memory and a 4G radio that allows Internet access without WiFi.

Stock Movement

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is currently trading at $524.31, which is a $4.28 rise from its opening price.
