Snickers has released a new ad in Australia that has good intentions, though the execution is questionable. The commercial opens up at a construction scene where men are lined up watching women walk down the street.

The screen goes black and reads, “What happens when builders aren’t themselves?”

The builders then shouted loud, empowering statements at the women about gender equality and ending misogyny. At the end of the commercial, the screen reads “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”

Snickers had the right idea with the commercial, but it seems to imply that men are sexist misogynistic pigs without a full stomach. Maybe I’m being overly sensitive, I may just be hungry.
