20 Highest Paying Tech Internships
Interns at certain high-profile tech companies can earn more money each year than the average U.S. citizen. Facebook, for example, pays its average intern a whopping $6,056 per month–$72,000 a year. And the lesser-known VMWare—which holds the No. 1 spot and describes itself as the “global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure”—pays its interns $6,536 monthly or an average annual salary of $78,432.
With the assistance of company rating site Glassdoor, Business Insider has compiled a list of the Top 20 Tech Companies That Pay Interns the most money. The salary data gathered by Glassdoor is based on anonymous salary reports voluntarily shared by current and recent employees and interns. The Top 20 list combines average monthly and hourly monthly pay to determine a larger data sample among tech interns. Only companies with 20 or more salary reports in the past two years were included in the sample.
