Bubble Soccer: Weird Past-Time Or Next Big Thing?

Looking like a cross between soccer and bumper cars, bubble soccer is now being played in Italy. The concept was made popular by a segment on the Norwegian TV show, “Golden Goal.” And I have to admit that I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t want to play.

I don’t care if I can’t breathe in that thing. I just want to feel the rush of the bubble smashing someone and watching them fly.

And if you’re sitting there thinking that Europeans are weird. Don’t you forget that it wasn’t too long ago that our country sat and watched dudes on steroids being shot with tennis balls. Unfortunately that reminds me of yet another dream of mine that will probably never come true, but perhaps “American Gladiators” will one day make a return.

Damnit.

Of course good ideas don’t just come to you at once. They need to be constantly refined. Check out a previous version of “Golden Goal,” to see what I’m talking about.

This time no bumpers… just electric dog collars.
