Did Kate Upton Say No To The Prom Or Not?

Sherman Oaks high school senior Jake Davidson hasn’t given up hope he’ll have supermodel Kate Upton on his arm come May 23. After Davidson very publicly invited Upton to prom over an extremely creative YouTube video, Upton told People Magazine she wasn’t sure she could attend because of her busy schedule, a statement interpreted by multiple media reports as her rejection of the date. But Davidson hasn’t given up hope.

She didn’t say no,” the 17-year-old said Tuesday. “She’s still checking her schedule, but from what I understand, she hasn’t said no.

And Upton’s agent, Lisa Benson, said in a Tuesday email that Upton is still “sorting through her schedule.

So is Davidson—a self-described 5’9” Jewish reader of “Sports Illustrated,” who enjoys sports, fine dining and can’t dance—delusional to hang onto his hope that Upton will accept his invitation? Not necessarily.

After Davidson Tweeted the video invitation to Upton March 17, Upton replied with a wink two days later, promising to check her schedule.

The video quickly went viral, and Davidson was invited to appear on the “Today Show” March 20, where he was treated to a surprise response from Upton. Upton called in during Davidson’s spot, and the kid really upped his ante with the supermodel.

This just got so much better now that you’re on the phone,” Davidson gushed after overcoming a moment of speechlessness. “I’m telling you it will be a great night, great evening – I could even get the curfew extended hopefully by my parents maybe. I hope you’d be interested if your schedule is free, and what time should I pick you up if you are interested?

And Upton again promised to check her schedule because Davidson sounded “like so much fun, and if everything works out,” she’d love to go with him. “I know we’d have a blast,” she said.
