On Wednesday, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk sent out a tweet teasing the imminent arrival of the Tesla “D”… and perhaps something new.

“About time to unveil the D and something else,” tweeted Musk, along with a picture of a shadowy car promising October 9 as the date of the unveiling.

Hopefully, it’s safe to assume that the aforementioned car is the new Tesla Model D, although according to Reuters, Musk has so far not responded to requests for more information. Musk has previously hinted that the third generation of the Tesla might involve a budget sedan and a small SUV.

Tesla’s current models, the Model S and Model X — sedan and SUV, respectively — already boast some impressive features, including zero tailpipe emissions, acceleration of 0-60 mph in around five seconds and falcon wing doors, so Tesla fans are most likely already drooling with anticipation to find out what the Model D will offer.

After the tweet, Tesla shares went as high as $252.79 on Thursday morning, climbing a total of 3 percent. In related news, Musk realizes that “unveil the D” may not be the best way to phrase mysterious tweets about cars.
