Ex-Barclays CEO Bob Diamond Says Daughter’s Vulgar Tweet ‘So Nice’

Bob Diamond may have been ousted as Barclays CEO, but he’s a kick-ass dad. If you recall, Diamond was ousted from Barclays last summer during the big LIBOR-rigging scandal. And if we think American press and politicians can be a bunch of ass-wipes, they’re nothing compared to the Brits.

The New York Times’ Andrew Ross Sorkin recounts the whole bloody mess in a sweet piece published today, but one particular passage sticks out. Last July, on the day Diamond resigned from Barclays, his daughter Nell—a Princeton grad and prolific Tweeter—posted a rather candid message directed toward British politicians, telling them to #hmd. For laypeople, that particular Tweet translates to “hold my dick.

When Sorkin asked about that particular communique, Diamond said he thought it was, “so nice,” (and apparently held no worries about his daughter’s anatomy.)

According to the Times:

She immediately called her father. “‘Dad, I think I did something really bad. I think I’m in trouble,’” Diamond recalled her saying. He told her: “Sweetie, I love you. That’s so nice. I think we’re probably all in trouble.
