New Video Emerges Of Baltimore Train Explosion
Miraculously, no one was killed when a freight train hit a truck and derailed today just outside of Baltimore. According to Baltimore County Public Safety, the train struck a large truck and its driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Two people aboard the train—an engineer and a conductor—escaped serious injury.
Video has emerged from passersby during the incident, which appeared to workers in Rosedale, Md. as a mysterious tower of black smoke. As people emerged from buildings to ponder the smoke, a huge explosion occurred that could be felt for miles. Images and other information spread quickly online this afternoon via Twitter and other social networks.
CSX officials reported the train was en route from Selkirk, N.Y., to Waycross, Ga., and led 45 cars carrying lumber, printing paper and the explosive sodium chlorate.
