I’m not a big beer drinker, but this motivational ad for Maccabee beer, an Israeli brand, had me wanting to run out to the liquor store and pick up some. Isaiah Mustafa, known as the Man Your Man Could Smell Like in Old Spice commercials, plays the US president, and gives an inspirational address from the Oval Office comparing Maccabee to many of life’s most profound moments.

The speech plays on a bar’s television as one patron declines Maccabee because he doesn’t “like the taste.” But as Mustafa compares the pale lager to experiences such as “the silent splendor of sunrise… from space,” and “tasting a snowflake that fell on your sweetheart’s nose,” people around the world can be seen glued to their screens, mesmerized by his words.

“What does taste taste like?” he asks. “When a free people chooses freedom, the taste of that choice is the flavor of justice, because there’s nothing free about the justice of taste.”

Mustafa makes the bar patron a believer in Maccabee, and he’s made me a believer in Maccabee, too. I can’t wait to try it.
