Jrue Holiday is the New Orleans Pelicans’ new point guard. The Pelicans traded for Holiday on draft day, paying the steep price of the 6th overall pick in the draft and a future first-round pick. The trade looked decent at the time: the Pelicans got a point guard who had an All-Star season for the Philadelphia 76ers. After the first game of the NBA preseason, the trade doesn’t look so good for New Orleans. Rockets guard Patrick Beverley wiped the floor with Holiday. Take a look:

The Pelicans ended up winning the game, but Beverley and the Rockets will definitely be a contender in the Western Conference. Holiday finished with eight turnovers (four of them forced by Beverley) and Holiday fouled out while guarding Beverley.
