The Hooters Of The Shoeshine Business: Star Shine NYC Welcomed By Financial District

What are some of Wall Street bankers favorite things after money? Their loafers and hot women come to mind… The founders of Star Shine NYC have figured out this simple concept and incorporated it into their business, a shoe shining company located in the financial sector of the Big Apple. The company, specifically located in the financial sector of the company, has put a spin on a very popular idea. Much like Hooters, the popular “wing” establishment, Star Shine puts a majority of its businesses emphasis on its sexy, skimpy-clothed employees. These girls are smoking, and in all reality any service you can provide me where most or all employees are beautiful, flirty dime-pieces will take priority over other businesses that offer the same service without said beautiful women.

Founded by Kevin White Jr. and his father, White Jr. thought it would be a great outlet for stressed-out members of the Wall Street society—including traders, lawyers and bankers. For only $7 (not including a tip), a customer can get a basic shoe shine while being provided a place to unwind from the stress and hectic environment that most everyone on Wall Street has become accustomed to on a daily basis. And not only has White put focus on the women he chooses, but he has also created quite the atmosphere for ideal relaxation and escape from the daily life. Equipping his business with flat-screen TVs and leather reclining chairs, it is crystal clear that White Jr. knows what he’s doing. He has even attempted to acquire a liquor license, which he says should be active in a couple of months.

And I don’t want to say that some guy that runs a little stand in the airport doesn’t know how to clean shoes. In reality he’s probably better at getting any dirt or grime off your shoe. But compared to what White Jr. has created, any guy scrubbing on your shoes is like a Double-A baseball pitcher starting game 7 of the World Series. OK, maybe that’s a little extreme, but put the two right next to each other and see who gets more business. You see my point.

But the product that White Jr. has crafted is only part of the equation. The other half of the genius lies in the testosterone-filled jungle that is Wall Street. More or less a daily pissing contest, men that are active in the market are constantly trying to one-up each other. White Jr. obviously knows this, because to drive traffic to his business he has begun to send the women, dressed in uniform, to hand out fliers on Wall Street as well as right in front of the New York Stock Exchange. As the girls hand out fliers and form bonds with individuals, the network of customers they are creating is nothing short of spectacular for a business open less than a month.

Mr. White Jr., I salute you for what you have done. Your idea—combined with your location—has set you up for instant success in an industry that seems dull and less popular than it once was. You, sir, are truly an entrepreneur at heart, and this idea could very well be recreated throughout the states once you sustain that success. But don’t think I don’t know the main reason you did this: I mean who wouldn’t want his fellow employees to be models?
