Trojan Giving Out Condoms In ‘Safe Ride’ Taxi Interactive Experience

Is it any coincidence that Condom Awareness Week falls during the same period as Valentine’s Day? Trojan is honoring both by deploying a fleet of Trojan Safe Ride taxis to certain areas of New York Feb. 14 and 15 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., offering passengers a free ride home, facts about condoms and Trojan prizes.

Much like the award-winning game show Cash Cab, New Yorkers who hail the Trojan Safe Ride taxis will be asked a series of trivia questions while they ride to their destinations. Those who can demonstrate superior knowledge on sexual health and condom usage by answering five or more questions correctly will walk away with a Trojan prize pack. If they answer all questions correctly they will receive a year’s supply of Trojan condoms.

While using a condom is easy, it is important that people have the facts to ensure they are using them consistently and correctly, and that we continue to dispel the myths associated with condom usage,” said Bruce Weiss, vice president of marketing for Trojan. “The Trojan Safe Rides serve as a ‘vehicle’ to get the facts out in a fun and engaging way.

The fun isn’t limited to New Yorkers, however. Trojan has also launched its Condomology Web site—FactsAboutCondoms.com—which offers sexual health information in partnership with the American Sexual Health Association. The site is now showing a new short film, “The History of Condoms,” which walks viewers through the evolution of the rubber, from its start in ancient Egypt to modern day technology.

But will it answer the real question on everyone’s minds… How many condoms are actually included in a “year’s supply?” And how did Trojan decide on that number?
