Twitter CEO Demonstrates New Way To Embed Video Into Tweets
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has Tweeted more than 5,000 times, but there’s was something unique about his Jan. 23 Tweet. Costolo used the Tweet to show fellow users how to make steak tartare, but that’s not the newsworthy part. Costolo embedded the video made with Vine—a video-sharing startup Twitter purchased in October.

According to the Financial Review, Twitter may soon use the acquisition to Tweet videos the same way they currently embed Instagram-style photos into Tweets. Sources familiar with the service say Vine will offer six-second videos that can be integrated into Tweets.
A video-sharing service tied directly to Twitter would compete with Instagram, which Facebook purchased in April. Although Twitter was once integrated with Instagram, both parties changed their software to end their affiliation several months ago. Since then, Twitter has begun offering its own image filter options that allow photos to be integrated into Tweets.
