Video Shows You How Google Glass Works
So we’ve seen the amazing footage of the first Google Glass Explorers unboxing and trying out their new devices, and we’re pretty impressed. In fact, we can’t wait until we can get our own Glass (hint, hint… Google). But how does Glass really work once you’ve got it on? What do those lucky first Explorers do to create those amazing images?
Of course Google knew we’d ask these questions before we ever thought about them, so it’s already created this handy-dandy how-to video with simple Glass operating instructions.
The Glass “touchpad” runs from users’ temples to their ears. Tapping the touchpad activates Glass. The display should appear above the user’s line of sight and can be adjusted similar to a rear-view mirror on a car.
Glass’ “home screen” shows a clock, but the screen is not alone. It’s actually the center of a “timeline,” or row of cards. Cards to the left are current or future events, such as weather or calendar reminders. Users can tap any card to see more details or swipe down to return to the timeline.
Cards to the right of the home page are past events, such as messages, videos and photos. Users can tap on a photo to share it and choose a friend. Glass can be turned back to standby by mode by swiping down from the home screen. It’s that simple!
