What Do You Do When The Olympic Torch Goes Out? (Video)
On Sunday, Winter Olympics organizers had the “Olympic flame” flown in from Greece. As is tradition, the Olympic flame is carried by hand across the host country, to the site of the Olympic games. There are lots of protocols in place to make sure that the torch does not go out. If the torch were to go out, there is usually a “back-up” flame. So, leave it to Russia to screw up the most important Olympic tradition.
I don’t know what’s more awkward: the way that old Russian guy runs, or the way the Russians used a cigarette lighter to replenish the Olympic flame.
