Your Pictures Are No Longer Safe With Snapchat

Just when you thought your embarrassing photos were safe with Snapchat, a new app comes along to disturb the photo-sharing ritual.

Screenshot Save for Snapchat from Sepia is just $1.99 on the app store, and it demystifies the Snapchat process by instantly taking a screenshot of the photos you receive from the photo-sharing app, where messages disappear within 10 seconds after opening. The description for the app reads:

Have you ever wanted to save your Snapchat photos and videos to your device but didn’t want to get caught with screenshots? Screenshot Save lets you view all unopened Snapchat photos and videos for as long as you want, and save them to your device for easy sharing with friends!”

The image logo for Screenshot Save for Snapchat is a parody to Snapchat’s cool-looking playful ghost; the new ghost has his mouth agape in shock.

According to Mashable, the reps behind the app could not be reached for comment as to what the motivation behind the app is.

To date, Snapchat has raised $75 million for a valuation of $800 million. Snapchat revealed in a blog post that users share 200 million picture snaps per day via its app. As of now, Snapchat has not commented on the reversal app, which could present a problem for them.
