Someone was bound to do it eventually. VSM Enterprises has launched an app in the Apple App Store that measure’s penis size. It’s actually a surprise it’s taken so long. The App Store has been online for almost five years and someone is just now offering a way for guys to turn their mobile devices into the one tool they’ve always wanted? Just get your dick hard, hold it up to your phone and viola! You know exactly how you measure up.

Of course the purpose of the app is not at all prurient and completely practical. The Condom Size app takes the measurements and determines the proper condom size the user should be wearing, and even suggests nearby stores where the particular condom can be purchased. While it may be true that condom failure can occur from poorly-fitting rubbers, it’s hard to imagine the educational aspect of the app was its developers’ primary agenda in creating it.

So how does Condom Size work? To measure length, it asks the male user to hold his “hard member” up against the rulers on either side of the app’s display—one side inches, the other side centimeters. User should then measure from the base of his “member” to the tip. If you’re longer than 4 inches you better opt for the iPad version, because you’re longer than the iPhone’s ruler.

Girth is measured with the help of a piece of string or a soft measuring tape. Simply wrap it around your member, straighten out the string and measure using the app’s tool.

Once the length and girth measurements are entered, the app recommends a condom and shows the user his “world ranking”—granted the ranking is based off of national average penis sizes based off of an Ultster University study.

The study was conducted at the Northern Ireland university by emeritus professor of psychology Richard Lynn.

Condom Size’s Web site offers a host of information from the all-important history of the penis, to various studies on penis size. It even explains the significances of measuring flaccid length, stretched length and erect length.

According to Lynn’s study, the average U.S. penis length is 5.1 inches versus 5.5 inches average length in the U.K. Or is it? Although the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported the numbers giving U.K. men a slight edge below the belt, Elite Daily—based in the U.S.—reported the opposite, 5.1 inches in the U.K. versus 5.5 in the U.S. Freudian slip someone? Or a cleverly-placed typo?

Available on iPhone versions 3GS through 5, as well as iPod Touch and iPad, the Condom Size app costs $0.99. It is also available in the Google Play store for Android devices.
