This Smart iPhone Case Tells You When Someone’s Calling Before Your Phone Does

One smart phone case is trying to outsmart your iPhone by using the energy that’s coming right from your phone. The Lunecase by Conceptor is designed to “use the unused” by converting the small amounts of electromagnetic energy that your phone emits and using it to power a notification system on the back of the case.

One of the main features of the intelligent iPhone case is its ability to identify and notify you when someone is calling before it’s displayed on your phone screen. The Lunecase also does the same for a text message notification.

Besides being functional, the Lunecase is designed to appear sleek and minimalistic. There are no wires or batteries to deal with, and the case goes on with a snap, remaining “as thin as the most popular cases on the market.”

CEO Vlad Tislenko says that when designing the Lunecase, his team wanted to make sure that they only enhanced the features of the iPhone, particularly keeping in mind its sleek and slim feel.
“The most important thing for us is to not compromise the very things that make the iPhone the iPhone,” Tislenko in a video posted on the Lunecase Kickstarter campaign page.
The Lunecase is currently being made to fit the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C models.

With three days left, the Lunecase Kickstarter campaign has surpassed its goal of raising $50,000 and has now raised $147,810. The company reports that it has started mass production of its smart iPhone case and delivered most of their shipments to more than 70 countries worldwide.

While the “Early Bird Lunecase Special” pledge of $35 or more is sold out, potential donors can still pledge the same amount to receive the Lunecase Eclipse, another version of Lunecase with a specialized LED ring in the back of the case to show off the Apple Logo.
